A Last Supper Presentation and Meal

“A Place at the Table” — A Last Supper Presentation and Meal

R. Bryan Widbin, PhD:  Presenter

(Zoom event—Tuesday, March 30, 2021)

Have you ever wondered what it would have been like to actually dine with Jesus and his disciples at the Last Supper?  What the meal was all about?  What the foods and the table customs would have been?  Or maybe you’re wondering why any of this should be at all important for us today.

If so, you’ll want to be part of a very special evening with us.  As we journey back to the early first century for a first-hand experience in the Last Supper.  Just as it would have been celebrated in Jesus’ day.

Unlike the contemporary Passover seder, which mixes in early and late medieval elements, we present the meal from within the ancient Greco-Roman and Jewish worlds in which it emerged.  For the Gospel writers, it was that ancient Last Supper, not the modern seder, that holds important clues for our understanding of the nature of Christian faith today.

This will be an evening of fun and fellowship, filled with history and learning, and of deeper understandings of the death and resurrection of Jesus.
